Psychotherapy Services
Psychotherapy sessions are informed by a relational and systemic approach. This approach explores all that influences an individual and the interrelationship between, rather than the common medical model of diagnose and treat. Sessions may involve verbal psychotherapy (as we know it), informed by, but not limited to, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and solution focused brief therapy (SFBT).
EFT brings attention to emotions and emotional regulation in interactions between individuals, with exploration of our intimate relationships with each other.
CBT brings emphasis to our thinking patterns, ongoing themes, and habits of behaviors that may be interfering. Awareness of our thinking patterns or habits can assist in movement towards a level of change to promote more ease.
SFBT facilitates movement of problems towards solutions. Most problems occur in interactions with others, and solutions come forward in exploring new interactions to do something different.
In addition, psychotherapy services may also incorporate hypnotherapy, eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), somatic work from craniosacral therapy (CST) and somatoemotional release (SER), Access Consciousness/Bars, meditation or mindfulness, and a variety of supplementary activities that can assist in the therapeutic process.
Sessions are geared towards individual’s needs and modalities are tailored; not all modalities are utilized for all clients. I work as a facilitator to one’s process and with a collaborative approach between the therapist and the client in which mutual respect is honored. In addition, I provide services to clinicians to facilitate self-care and promote wellness in servicing others.
